The Honorable Commissioner Public Complaints Commission FCT Hon, Musa Dikko Thursday, led a delegation of FCT officials to the Federal Civil Service Commission on a courtesy visit to advocate for increase in employment quota for indigenes of the Federal Capital Territory in the federal civil service.
Accompanied by Management Staff of the Commission including the Deputy director of Investigation, Madam Jideri Agbase and the Assistant Director Investigation, Mallam Bello Aliyu, Hon Diko expressed that the need to visit the Federal Civil Service Commission and specifically see it’s Commissioner in charge of FCT/ Niger, Dr Adamu Hussani was to discuss on how both Public Complaints Commission and Federal Civil Service Commission can work together for the good of FCT indigenes and thanked Dr Adamu for granting him audience.
Welcoming the Hon Dikko to his office Dr Adamu Hussani spoke about the need to stop the raging corruption in the country stating that the country is full of what he described as “man knows
man mentality and disclosed that he intend to follow procedures in all matters relating to employment into the Federal Civil Service.
He assured Hon Diko that he will be glad to work with PCC and expressed his pleasure over the visit while thanking the FCT Ombudsman for the collaboration initiative.
While Mallam Bello Aliyu thanked Dr Adamu Hussani for the reception accorded PCC while enumerating the watchdog mandate of the Commission over Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government, he also emphasized on the numerous complaints from the people of FCT centered on not getting jobs.
Madam Jideri Agbasa in her contribution during the visit appealed to Federal Civil Service Commissioner to always ensure that there is a balance in terms of FCT employment quota compared to other states of the Federation.
Responding further, Dr Adamu Hussani said that the Service Commission has been fair to FCT indigenous people and agree that there is need to strike a balance.
The courtesy visit is part of the FCT Ombudsman’s engagements and advocacy for the enthronement of administrative best practices, fair play and elimination unjust practices in the Federal Capital Territory giving it’s place as the seat of almost all Departments, Ministries and Agencies of the Federal Government.
