Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has approved Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim Bello as the new Emir of Gusau Emirate, following the passing of his father, the late Emir Ibrahim Bello, on July 25, 2025.

Alhaji Abdulkadir ascends the throne as the 16th Emir, with the appointment made based on the recommendation of the Gusau Emirate kingmakers. The Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, announced the development, highlighting that the appointment adheres to traditional customs and relevant laws.

Dr. Sanusi Bala Turaki Maituta (MON) congratulated the new Emir, wishing him a reign of peace and progress.
