Businessman and oil magnate, Abdullahi Bashir Haske, has denied allegations of fraud leveled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), insisting that he is not on the run as speculated in some reports.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Haske described the allegations as baseless and politically motivated, stressing that he has always conducted his businesses transparently and in line with due process.

“I want to make it clear that I am not on the run. I have nothing to hide, and I am ready to cooperate with the authorities to clear my name,” Haske said.

He further urged the public to disregard what he called “false narratives” being circulated to tarnish his reputation, noting that his commitment to contributing to Nigeria’s economy remains unshaken.

The EFCC had earlier disclosed that investigations were ongoing into alleged financial misconduct linked to Haske, but the businessman has maintained that he is innocent of any wrongdoing.
