The Executive Chairman Abaji Area Council Honourable Abubakar Umar Abdullahi, has congratulated the leadership and members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees(NULGE), And Nigeria Union of Teachers(NUT) Respectfully commemoration of 2025 Workers’ Day.

In his Remarke, He noted that every society must inculcate respect for hard work and the value of labour and that society must uphold and cherish all who work with commitment, doggedness and dedication to the common good.

He stated that no society can develop without a productive work force, thanked workers in all sectors for makings great contribution to the progress of Abaji Area Council, Federal Capital Territory and Nigeria at large.

He further stated that the implementation of many initiatives to reform the public service and education owes much to the support and cooperation of our work force. My Government is committed to empowering the public service as the facilitator of good governance. This entails that persons with skill be recruited and valued, and merit respected as a primary consideration.

Workers as citizens live in a society that requires the delivery of public goods like Education and Healthcare. My government will continue to invest in human capital by improving our schools and hospitals, providing for the vulnerable and promoting policies that advance the common good.

Dear NUT/NULGE, My administration will do anything humanly possible to see that the longtime industrial action has come to an end, in extension, my Administration will continue to accord top priority to workers’ welfare in view of their invaluable contributions to the development of the Abaji Area Council and FCT. He added.

Finally, He assured all the parents and guidance that the rights of workers will be duly guaranteed and complied with, adding that, no worker will be victimised on account of expressing himself or herself either in demanding for their rights or seeking legal redress.
