The PEBEC Nationwide Tour kicked off in Lagos State on Monday, 23 June with the Director General of PEBEC, Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu, in attendance alongside the Lagos State Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Folashade Kaosarat Bada Ambrose, and other key dignitaries.

The DG emphasized that “this tour is an opportunity to see what is working and what is not quite working in the implementation of reforms at the subnational level.” She reaffirmed PEBEC’s commitment to removing bureaucratic and legislative barriers to doing business, aligning the initiative with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 8-point agenda, particularly on economic growth and governance reform.

Speaking on Lagos State’s reform approach, Mrs. Folashade stated: “Lagos’ response to SABER has been robust, ambitious, and fully aligned with the State’s long-term strategic plans namely the proposed Lagos State Industrial Policy (LSIP 2025–2030), the THEMES+ Agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration, and the Lagos State Development Plan (LSDP) 2052.”

As Nigeria’s commercial capital, Lagos continues to play a pivotal role in advancing private-sector-led, subnational reforms reinforcing its position as Africa’s market capital.
