In a major push to combat hunger and poverty through increased agricultural productivity, all is now set for the much-anticipated Mega Farmers Empowerment Programme facilitated by the Senator representing Ogun West, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.

The initiative, scheduled to take place this week, is a strategic component of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, aimed at achieving food security and promoting economic self-reliance across Nigeria.

Hundreds of trained farmers drawn from across the five local government areas in Ogun West will benefit from the empowerment, which includes the distribution of agricultural equipment, critical farm inputs, and direct financial support. The beneficiaries had earlier undergone technical training in modern farming practices to ensure effective utilization of the support.

Senator Yayi emphasized that the programme is a deliberate response to the challenges of food insecurity and rural poverty. “We are determined to tackle hunger and poverty head-on by empowering our farmers with what they truly need—knowledge, tools, and financial backing,” he stated.

This empowerment is yet another demonstration of Senator Yayi’s effective representation and unwavering commitment to grassroots development, economic growth, and agricultural transformation in line with the national agenda.

The event is expected to attract key stakeholders, community leaders, and government officials, as Senator Yayi continues to set the pace in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Ogun West.
