Dr. Adedolapo Fasawe Mandate Secretary of Health Services & Environment FCTA attended the 2025 World Tuberculosis (TB) Day event, themed “World TB Day 2025 Community Outreach,” held at Sauka Village, Abuja. The event was hosted by Nigeria’s First Lady, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who is a global and national Stop TB Champion.

The event aimed to dispel long-standing myths about TB, emphasizing that the disease is both preventable and treatable. The First Lady donated ₦1 billion to support TB prevention and treatment efforts and directed Dr. Fasawe to facilitate the establishment of a primary healthcare centre in the community.

As a public health practitioner, Dr. Fasawe highlighted the importance of political will and community support in TB prevention and treatment. Adhering to proper protocols is crucial in preventing and treating TB. The event was attended by a large gathering of dignitaries, and the FCT Public Health Department’s exhibition was particularly notable.
